AXR: New and Improved

I heard you.

Thank you to all who took the time to give feedback on the AncestoriesXR MVP. You wanted a more straightforward way of navigating stories. You could not get many of the interactions to work. The pages took way too long to load. In the startup world, we often joke that nobody wants to hear that their baby is ugly. And AXR is my baby. But….we have to listen to our beta testers and clients. I am grateful for your honest opinions.

So, I’ve been in the laboratory these past six months working on several ways to bring your family stories to life — differently. I’ve built it from the ground up to reflect my original concept. I’ve come up with multiple tiers of interactivity, from talking portraits to interactive scenes where you can control what is being said with a click of a button, to information popups that won’t weigh the page down, and to avatars that can converse with you. In August, I showed a very patient client the new version. I was thrilled that she was delighted and excited to be able to deliver an interactive story about the Peter Mott house that could be easily navigated on a desktop, tablet, smartphone, smart TV, or headset.
